Chicago BFT Market Falls, Gulf Market Creeps Higher

**Please note, The Jacobsen will not publish a bulletin on Monday, February 19 in observance of Presidents’ Day.**

Four cars of packer grade bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) traded down to 41 cts/lb Chicago this afternoon. Technical tallow traded late yesterday at 51.5 cts/lb Chicago, steady with the last traded level, and tallow into the Gulf was done higher today at 41 cts/lb delivered.

The overall tone in the market this week was fairly quiet, but there was trading done higher into/through the Chicago market. Friday’s trading was down compared to Wednesday’s action, but up a 1/2 cent from Monday’s level. The weekly average for packer BFT moved up by 4.0 percent compared to the prior week’s average, and the market regained the losses from earlier in the month.
