The porcine bloodmeal market was higher today out of the MO/IA/NE market and indications were as high as $1350 for trading midweek. Trading out of the Indiana market was lower.
Animal proteins for the week were highly mixed with both ruminant and porcine bloodmeal moving significantly lower for the week while pet food grade poultry-by meal (PFG PBM) as well as meat and bonemeal (MBM) values were steady to higher.
Porcine and ruminant bloodmeal were lower by 10.9 and 5.0 percent, respectively, from last week’s weekly average. Buyer pushback was reported on both variants with the higher prices pushing buyers to formulate bloodmeal out of feed rations.
