Organic Cracked Corn Imports Weigh on Organic Corn Prices

Organic Cracked Corn Imports Weigh on Organic Corn Prices

Organic corn prices are slightly lower as growers move closer to hitting bids. Imported organic corn volumes were light in December, with nearly all imports coming from Canada. There appears to be organic cracked corn on its way from Turkey to the United States.

Demand continues to weigh on prices as the lack of discretionary spending due to higher interest rates weighs on organic animal protein sales. Strong cracked corn imports in 2023 and rising whole corn imports during the calendar year will likely lead to a rising carry-out, pushing stocks to use higher numbers.
