Porcine MBM and BM Move Higher on Active Demand

Porcine bloodmeal values moved higher in several regions for Tuesday. Multiple sources indicated increased demand in the near term. Porcine meat and bonemeal values were also up on the day in multiple regions on accounts of diminished availability. A high of $475/st was reported in Mo. River in limited volume.

Ruminant meat and bonemeal were steady, though undertones of strength have been communicated from several participants. This is due to a combination of active demand and lower slaughter levels. Contacts stated five-day slaughter weeks are more common due to limited market-ready cattle. Also tightening inventory is the export market, which has reportedly been more active in March than previous months.
