Prices Continue to Rally on Increased Demand

Rumors of a potential UCO ban from China dominated the conversation this afternoon, but there has been no official confirmation of any bans or restrictions on Chinese, or any UCO, imports today. The rumors were that a lack of auditor access could to verify UCO traceability could lead to some RIN generation bans by the EPA.
The EPA had not responded to The Jacobsen’s request for comment by the time of publication. Again, there has been no official confirmation on any ban or restrictions on UCO imports. Buyers in the renewable sector largely shrugged off the rumors.
There was a bid in the market for three cars of renderer grade BFT at 45 cts/lb Chicago today with no trading reported. Sellers are tight on material and thus far no one has been willing to step into the market and sell, or counter.
Tallow did trade higher into the Gulf today, up to 43.5 cts/lb delivered.
