Cattle slaughter higher in April, remains under 2023

Used cooking oil (UCO) traded higher on Monday, with reports in a range of 43 – 43.5 cents per pound delivered US Gulf today for domestic material. Choice white grease traded in light volume at 37 cents per pound. Other items were steady for the Monday with several market participants attending the National Institute of Oilseed Products (NIOP) in Palm Springs, California. 

US Cattle Slaughter Forecast

Cattle slaughter finished last week at an estimated 586,000 head last week, down 5.07 percent from the same week last year but up 0.86 percent from the week prior. The Jacobsen is forecasting slaughter at 610,000 head this week and at an average of 615,830 head over the next six weeks.
