CME May Soybeans Drop Below Previous High

Grain futures displayed notable movement throughout the week. The production potential in South America and persistent geopolitical tensions in the Black Sea region led to substantial shifts in grain prices. Reports of damaging rain and hail over key grain-producing regions in Argentina pushed soybean futures to a two-month high but ended up dropping below the high on Friday March 22. However, weather forecasts suggest a dry spell next week.

DDGS prices declined in the Iowa market this week, while other regions remained steady. Buyers were actively searching for offers, but sellers held back. Overall, the DDGS market was firm and is expected to remain that way in the near term. Limited supply is anticipated in the coming weeks, which could help carry some tightness out front.
