Ethanol production climbs, stocks top previous high

Wheat midd prices in the Minneapolis and Kansas City markets were higher on Wednesday April 3. Market participants said values were in relatively tight ranges coming out of the holiday and noted that once run times get back to normal, the market is expected to settle back down.

CME grain prices shifted higher across the board on Wednesday. May soymeal increased by $1.70/st and closed at $330.00/st. May soybeans increased by $0.0825 and settled at $11.82/bu. Furthermore, May corn futures rose $0.0525 to $4.31/bu, and May wheat increased by $0.1075 to $5.56/bu. Following rainfall across the central U.S., grain prices finally rebounded after noticeable losses over the past few days. Wheat prices captured double-digit gains, while soybean and corn prices followed the upward trend of other grains after a round of technical buying.
