Meat and bonemeal (MBM) prices into China and Indonesia were lower this week, down to an average of $470 per tonne CIF.
Lower Australian and New Zealand prices have weighed on the CIF values with ANZ sellers more competitive into the Southeast Asian market versus the US sellers.
Australia’s weekly cattle slaughter was reported at 105,695 head in the week ending March 29, slightly below last week’s figure but still advancing last year’s figure by 9.7 percent. Year-to-date slaughter now stands at 1,493,044 head.
