Organic corn prices tracking conventional

Organic corn prices have steadily declined over the previous year as growers hold their positions, hoping for a market turnaround.  Imports of organic cracked corn have persisted, but it is not officially tracked by US customs like organic whole yellow corn is.

Historically, the correlation between organic and conventional corn has been relatively loose, as we’ve discussed in previous commentary. Prices for The Jacobsen’s Organic Corn – Midwest have declined 31.5% above the period since last March.
