DDG prices were lower in the Channahon, IL, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Ohio markets, while other regions remained steady on Monday April 8. Market participants said that values were lower despite the stronger cash corn price this past week and lower plant production. Sources anticipate that prices will stabilize for the remainder of the month because of the shutdown season.
CME grain prices were mixed on Monday. May wheat fell $0.015, closing at $5.65/bu, and May soybeans decreased by $0.035, settling at $11.81/bu. Additionally, May soymeal rose by $2.90 to $336.00/st, and May corn increased by $0.0125, reaching $4.35/bu. Soybean and wheat prices closed lower today due to a wave of technical selling, while corn recorded gains following indications of hot weather in the Southern and Central Plains that could potentially dry out soil moisture.
