UCO, DCO prices fall week-on-week, FOB markets supported by local demand

Distiller’s corn oil (DCO) traded lower on an FOB basis and into the Gulf market today. UCO was higher into the Southeast market and tallow into the Gulf was mixed, traded as low as 40.50 with offers heard out at 44 cents lb delivered. Edible tallow did trade up ½ cent lb on a Chicago basis today.

For the week, market direction was mixed. Packer BFT on a Chicago basis was flat at 41 cents lb with no changes seen in the market since mid-March. Choice white grease (CWG) and yellow grease (YG) FOB Mo. River were both higher, with the CWG market up 0.5% and the yellow grease market up 5.6%. Both markets saw good demand from the feed and local biofuels sector and the previous increases in the CWG market helped to pull the YG market higher.
