The Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) will be the first to receive sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from Neste’s expanded Singapore refinery, the companies announced on Monday May 6.

SIA ordered 1,000 tonnes (330,000 gallons) of Neste SAF to be delivered to Changi Airport in two batches during the second and fourth quarters this year, to be used by SIA and its budget airline subsidiary Scoot, according to the announcement.

The purchase is voluntary and comes in advance of Singapore’s 2026 SAF mandate.
