Porcine meat and bonemeal lower on diminished interest

The majority of US animal protein prices were steady on Wednesday May 8. Most values reported were within the previously set ranges, with exception to porcine ruminant bloodmeal on the Missouri River and all four regions of porcine meat and bonemeal.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for bloodmeal, ruminant, fob Missouri River was $900-1,040 per short ton on Wednesday, widening upward from $900-1,000 per short ton on Tuesday on large volume trades at $1,040 per short ton.

Market participants said diminished interest as well as buyer pushback have placed downward pressure on all four regions of porcine meat and bonemeal.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for meat and bone meal, porcine, fob Missouri River was $340-400 per short ton on Wednesday, down from $355-410 per short ton on Tuesday.
