International animal proteins steady to lower week on week

International animal proteins were mixed to lower for the week to Thursday May 16. Several products are in flux, dependent upon soybean meal harvests and weather in the US and South America, market sources said.

New Zealand values moved slightly lower on indications that the NZ dollar appreciated against the US dollar. The NZ dollar is NZ$0.612 to the US dollar as of May 16, this is 3.97% higher from the start date of April 16, when the it was NZ$0.589 to the US dollar.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for meat and bone meal, bovine, 45 Pro, export, fca New Zealand was NZ$600-615 ($372-381) per tonne on Thursday, down from NZ$610-630 per tonne on May 9.

Fastmarkets assessed meat and bone meal, bovine, export, cfr China and meat and bone meal, bovine, export, cfr Indonesia steady for the week, both at $470-480 per tonne.
