US soybean export sales plunge 38% to 265,700 tonnes

Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) grain prices mostly fell on Thursday May 16. The July CME soybean futures contract showed the only increase, rising by 2.75 cents per bushel to close at $12.16 per bu.

The July wheat futures contract decreased by 2.50 cents per bu, settling at $6.63 per bu, and July soymeal dropped by $4.00 per short ton to $367.70 per ton.

Meanwhile, July corn fell by 5.50 cents per bu to $4.57 per bu.

Weekly export sales, released May 16

Soybean
Soybean export sales reached 265,700 tonnes in the week to May 9, down by 38% week on week and 31% below the four-week average. Export sales for the 2024/25 crop season were 25,200 tonnes, resulting in total sales of 290,900 tonnes.
