Soymeal futures surge ahead of holiday weekend

Grain prices on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange rose on Friday May 24. The July soybean futures contract increased by 8.75 cents per bushel, settling at $12.48 per bu, while July wheat dropped by 0.75 cents per bu, closing at $6.97 per bu.

Meanwhile, July soybean meal jumped by $9.80 per short ton to $386.50 per ton, and July corn rose by 0.75 cents per bu to $4.64 per bu.

Distillers’ dried grains (DDG) prices remained steady across all regions. Market sources reported quiet trading ahead of the upcoming long holiday weekend; they confirmed prices within Fastmarkets’ current price range assessments.
