Central Illinois soymeal prices climb to 4-month high

Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices mostly fell on Tuesday May 28, with the July CME wheat futures contract the only one to increase, rising by 3 cents per bushel to close at $7.00 per bu.

The July soybean futures contract decreased by 18.50 cents per bu, settling at $12.29 per bu, and July soymeal dropped by $9.90 per short ton to $376.60 per ton.

Meanwhile, July corn fell by 2.25 cents per bu to $4.62 per bu.

Following the long Memorial Day weekend, grain future prices were mixed. Wheat prices jumped on reports of further yield-damaging frosts in Russia.

However, corn and soybeans did not follow the upward trend due to seasonal planting pressure in the US and harvest pressure in South America.
