BFT packer, CWG prices rise on robust demand

The US animal fats and waste oils market saw a flurry of activity on Wednesday May 29, at mostly higher prices. Four railcars of packer bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) traded higher, at 44 cents per lb Chicago basis.

Four railcars of choice white grease (CWG) traded up, to 42 cents per lb Chicago basis. Five truckloads of CWG were done as high as 40.50 cents per lb into the Missouri River market, with large volumes traded at 40 cents per lb.

CWG prices remained robust due to tight supply and solid demand, from not only the feed sector but from the biodiesel and renewable diesel industry as well. Missouri River CWG prices are at their highest level since December 2023.
