Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices fell on Monday June 3. The July CME soybean futures contract decreased by 20.50 cents per bushel to settle at $11.84 per bu, and July soymeal dropped by $5.20 per short ton to $359.50 per ton.

Meanwhile, the July CME corn futures contract declined by 2.75 cents per bu to $4.43 per bu, and July wheat futures fell by 5.75 cents per bu to close at $6.72 per bu.

Distillers’ dried grain (DDG) prices dropped in the Iowa market on Monday, while prices in other regions were steady.

Market participants reported steady-to-lower values, with cash corn prices putting some pressure on DDG prices, along with another week of higher plant production.

Market sources have also pointed out that DDG appears to be facing challenges along with the rest of the protein complex, with some areas struggling to incorporate DDG into animal diets.
