US Gulf tallow prices increased on Wednesday June 5, reported in a range of 44-45 cents per lb delivered. Trading on a Chicago basis was quiet, and several sources said that “material is hard to find.”
Strong demand continued for choice white grease (CWG), with trading done as high as 43 cents per lb on Wednesday.
Yellow grease prices were mostly unchanged, supported by strong demand from the feed sector, but trading was done lower into the Carolinas market on Wednesday. The Kansas/Texas market traded at 38.5 cents per lb delivered.
The distillers’ corn oil (DCO) market was mostly quiet in terms of volume, but higher prices were heard out of the Indiana/Ohio market on an FOB basis. Gulf market prices were lower, reported in a range of 47-48 cents per lb delivered.
