Slow biodiesel sales and weak feedstock demand continued to put downward pressure on European animal fats and used cooking oil (UCO), with prices falling by around €10-30 per tonne week on week; rumors about an import tax increase for Chinese UCO in the US and potentially in Europe also contributed to the downtrend.

Some volumes of Category 3 edible lard were heard trading around €930 per tonne ex-works France, with similar prices heard for max 5% free fatty acids (FFA) fats on a DDP North-West Europe basis.

Selling ideas for European UCO dropped by around €30-50 per tonne week on week and were reported around €1,000-1,010 per tonne in North-West Europe, while buyers targeted prices as low as €950-980 per tonne.
