US wheat, soymeal export sales fall below USDA expectations

Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices shifted higher across the board on Thursday June 13.

The July soybean futures contract increased by 12.25 cents per bushel to settle at $11.89 per bu, and July soymeal jumped by $8.10 per short ton to $368.30 per ton.

Meanwhile, the July corn futures contract increased by 4.25 cents per bu to $4.58 per bu, and July wheat rose by 3 cents per bu to close at $6.20 per bu.

The central US is bracing for an incoming heatwave, with numerous fields expected to experience daytime highs reaching 90°F (32°C) or more in the next few days. Market participants quickly took notice and initiated a round of technical selling that helped boost corn and soybean prices.
