Central Illinois soybean crush margins reach 3-month high

Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices fell on Monday June 17, with the July CME soybean futures contract decreasing by 22 cents per bushel to settle at $11.57 per bu, and July soymeal dropping by $8.10 per short ton to $360.30 per ton.

Meanwhile, the July CME corn futures contract declined by 6.25 cents per bu to $4.43 per bu, and July wheat futures fell by 21.25 cents per bu to close at $5.91 per bu.

Despite strong export inspection data and the expectation of a slight ease in crop quality, corn prices dropped alongside other grains.

Soybean prices captured double-digit losses following a round of technical selling spurred by planting progress in the US, and as the current Brazilian harvest wraps up.

Wheat prices also trended lower, with harvest pressure prompting a round of technical selling.
