September and October DCO prices were indicated lower for the Illinois/Wisconsin and Missouri River markets due to weakness in the soybean oil market and expectations of increased supply. 

Lard traded at 53 cents per lb in Chicago in two rail cars on Friday after the close of trade. 

Fastmarkets’ research team forecasts hog slaughter at 2.375 million head for the week to July 20, down by 0.5% week on week and up by 2% year on year.

Over the next six weeks, Fastmarkets projects hog slaughter to average 2.412 million head per week, up by 0.7% year on year and up by 3.1% from the prior six-week average.
