Hog slaughter forecast to trend higher into August

Soybean meal prices were up on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), but the increase did little to motivate buyers and sellers in the market on what was a typically quiet Monday. 

Fastmarkets’ research team forecasts hog slaughter at 2.38 million head for the week to July 27, up by 0.1% week on week and down by 1% year on year.
