Corn, soybean, wheat futures plunge ahead of weekend

Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices mostly fell on Friday July 26. The August CME soymeal futures contract showed the only increase, rising by $0.90 per short ton to $353.30 per ton.

The August soybean futures contract decreased by 38.50 cents per bushel, settling at $10.77 per bu, and September wheat dropped by 14.25 cents per bu to close at $5.23 per bu.

Meanwhile, September corn fell by 11.50 cents per bu to $3.94 per bu.

Distillers’ dried grain (DDG) prices fell in the Minnesota/Dakotas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Ohio markets this week, but remained steady in other regions. Market sources reported that the falling corn prices along with sluggish demand and rising supplies continue to pressure DDG prices.
