US biodiesel imports in June slow to their lowest since November

Imports
US biodiesel imports slowed during June, according to data released by the Census Bureau on Tuesday August 6. The monthly total fell to 30.04 million gallons, the lowest reading since November 2023.

Reduced import volumes from the EU appeared to be the driving factor in June. EU imports fell by 17.5 million gallons from May. Belgium, France, Italy, Germany and Spain all showed noticeably lower volumes for the month.

US June biodiesel imports declined by 22% from May and were 28% below the 42 million gallons imported during June 2023. Canada, South Korea and Spain were the largest biodiesel suppliers, providing 76% of the monthly total. Germany and Malaysia combined provided an additional 19%.
