North Dakota soybean crush plant opens doors

North Dakota Soybean Processors (NDSP) officially started operations at its new soybean crushing facility in Casselton, North Dakota, on Wednesday August 7, the company said in a news release.

The plant — a joint venture between Minnesota Soybean Processors and Louisiana-based CGB Enterprises — started receiving soybean deliveries in mid-July.

During its first year of operation, the NDSP plant will be able to crush up to 42.5 million bushels of soybeans per year into soybean oil, soybean meal and soybean hull pellets.

The NDSP facility will be the second largest of its kind in North Dakota, after the Green Bison crush plant — a joint venture between ADM and Marathon Petroleum Corporation that opened in September 2023, with a processing capacity of 150,000 bu per day.
