Animal fats and oils stable to lower; soybean oil prices resume decline

In the FOB Missouri River markets, choice white grease was assessed in a wider range at 43.5-45.5 cents per lb, with sources noting continued demand but some pushback on prices.

Meanwhile, prices for used cooking oil and yellow grease delivered into the US Gulf traded lower throughout the day, assessed at 45 cents per lb and 43.5 cents per lb, respectively.

Distiller’s corn oil also traded lower on Tuesday due pressure from the soybean oil market. Trading was done for substantial volumes at 43 cents per lb FOB Missouri River and prices were indicated lower into the Manly, Iowa, market.

One source said that the overall market feels disorganized, adding that distinguishing between the overall market decline and actual demand remains challenging.
