Animal proteins steady to lower amid general market pressure

US animal protein prices were steady to lower on Wednesday August 14, with most participants saying lower prices on Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean meal continue to pressure animal feed-related products.

Meat and bonemeal, ruminant, Illinois renderer fell to $210-230 per short ton on Wednesday on continued accounts of buyer pushback.

Pure beef meat and bonemeal was reported flat in the Mo. River region with a reported high of $310 per short ton.

The US East rail delivered meat and bonemeal, ruminant was lower at $355-365 per short ton on multiple load counts, down from $380-390 per short ton on Tuesday.
