Weekly average ethanol production in the US was 1.07 million barrels per day in the week to August 9, up by 5,000 bpd from a week earlier and up by 0.3% year on year, according to reports by the US Energy Information Administration on Wednesday.

Ethanol stocks totaled 23.35 million barrels, down by 413,000 barrels week on week and down by 0.4% year on year.

Demand for corn increased by 0.5% from the previous week and rose by 0.3% year on year. Approximately 15.88 million bu per day of corn were used for ethanol production.

Livestock feed production totaled 114,638 tonnes in the week to August 9. Distillers’ dried grain production accounted for 101,956 tonnes, with the remaining amount consisting of 10,701 tonnes of corn gluten feed and 1,982 tonnes of corn gluten meal.

Gasoline supply increased by 78,000 bpd from the previous week to 9.04 million bpd, and was up by 2.2% year on year.
