Most grain prices on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange fell on Friday August 16. The November soybean futures contract decreased by 11.50 cents per bushel to settle at $9.57 per bu, while September wheat increased by 1.75 cents per bu to close at $5.30 per bu.
Meanwhile, September soybean meal fell by $4.50 per short ton to $303.40 per ton, and September corn dropped by 4.50 cents per bu to $3.70 per bu.
Wheat prices posted slight gains following a round of technical buying, driven by heavy rains hampering production in France and Germany.
Corn prices continued to decline after another wave of technical selling. Soybean prices suffered double-digit losses following a round of technical selling after the USDA forecasted record-breaking US production earlier in the week.
