Soybean futures capture double-digit gains ahead of weekend

Most grain prices on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange fell on Friday August 23. The September wheat futures contract decreased by 8.75 cents per bu to close at $5.02 per bu, while November soybean increased by 11.50 cents per bushel to settle at $9.73 per bu

Meanwhile, September soybean meal fell by $0.10 per short ton to $306.30 per ton, and September corn dropped by 3.75 cents per bu to $3.67 per bu.

Soybean prices captured double-digit gains after a round of technical buying, while wheat prices continued to drop following a round of technical selling driven by large domestic and global supplies.

Corn prices declined, with market players focusing on the near record-high production levels from the USDA, which triggered another round of technical selling.
