Organic feed ingredients hold value on uncertain supply

Smaller lots and out-of-spec organic corn were trading well below such prices, but this was to be expected with bins being cleaned out.

One merchandiser told Fastmarkets on Tuesday that there may be less organic corn carryover than once thought, and that sellers were beginning to draw a harder line on prices. That was juxtaposed with a need for storage space while the market moved closer to what may be a record harvest of organic corn and soybeans.

Organic wheat prices rebounded marginally after traders struggled to sell it earlier this summer. The volume of wheat sold into conventional markets will have helped considerably to ease any oversupply, following two successful organic winter wheat harvests in a row.
