US crop conditions for corn, soybean and spring wheat deteriorated in the week to Sunday August 25, according to the USDA’s weekly crop progress report released on Monday August 26.
Corn
Corn dough was reported at 84%, up by 10 percentage points from last week but down by 1 percentage point from the year before.
Corn dented was reported at 46%, up by 16 percentage points from the previous week’s total and in line with last year’s figure.
Corn maturity is now under way in 14 states, standing at 11%, up by 6 percentage points from last week and 3 percentage points above last year.
Corn condition was at 65% good-to-excellent, down by 2 percentage points week on week but still above the 56% good-to-excellent rating last year. The 2024 crop rated in poor-to-very-poor condition was 2 percentage points above the previous week’s figure at 13%, and compared with 17% a year earlier.
