Weekly average ethanol production in the US was 1.07 million barrels per day in the week to August 23, down by 27,000 bpd from a week earlier but up by 6.3% year on year, according to reports by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Wednesday August 28.

Ethanol stocks totaled 23.57 million barrels, down by 2,000 barrels week on week but up by 9.1% year on year.

Demand for corn decreased by 2.5% from the previous week but was up by 6.3% year on year. Approximately 15.86 million bushels per day of corn were used for ethanol production.

Livestock feed production totaled 114,531 tonnes in the week to August 23. Distillers’ dried grain production accounted for 101,861 tonnes, with the remaining amount consisting of 10,691 tonnes of corn gluten feed and 1,980 tonnes of corn gluten meal.

Gasoline supply increased by 114,000 bpd from the previous week to 9.3 million bpd and was up by 2.6% year on year.
