US July soybean crush rises, with feedstock demand for soyoil hitting new monthly high in June

The USDA’s Monthly Fats and Oils report, released on Tuesday September 3, showed that US processors crushed 193 million bushels of soybeans in July. This was up by about 5% month on month and by 4.3% year on year. 

It is common for soybean crush volumes to rebound at this time of year. Crush levels tend to decline in the early US summer months because processing plants schedule maintenance and repairs before the start of the fall harvest season.

Soybean crush rates have also been moving higher, with soy oil demand continuing to rise due to increased production and capacity additions of biodiesel and renewable diesel in the US.
