Ethanol production falls for second straight week, UCO trades lower

Used cooking oil (UCO) was reported at 44-45 cents per lb delivered US Gulf on Thursday September 5, while yellow grease traded higher at 43.50 cents per lb delivered.

The overall tone of the market was again quiet, with many buyers and sellers seemingly well covered for the nearby position and both feeling comfortable waiting for further market direction before committing to any large volume for their next position.

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimated ethanol production for the week to August 30 at 1.061 million barrels per day in the Weekly Petroleum Status Report released on Thursday.
