US ethanol production down to 1.06 mln bpd, but up 4.8% year on year

Weekly average ethanol production in the US was 1.06 million barrels per day in the week to August 30, down by 10,000 bpd from a week earlier but up by 4.8% year on year, according to reports by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Thursday September 5.

Ethanol stocks totaled 23.35 million barrels, down by 218,000 barrels week on week but up by 8% year on year.

Demand for corn decreased by 1% from the previous week but was up by 4.8% year on year. Approximately 15.72 million bushels per day of corn were used for ethanol production.

Livestock feed production totaled 113,462 tonnes in the week to August 30. Distillers’ dried grain production accounted for 100,910 tonnes, with the remaining amount consisting of 10,591 tonnes of corn gluten feed and 1,961 tonnes of corn gluten meal.

Gasoline supply decreased by 369,000 bpd from the previous week to 8.9 million bpd and was down by 4.1% year on year.
