Fastmarkets’ research team forecast hog slaughter at 2.55 million head in the week to September 14, up by around 0.57% from the corresponding week in 2023.

Over the next six weeks, hog slaughter is projected to average 2.61 million head per week, up by 1.15% year on year. This is 2.40% above the prior six-week average of 2.54 million head, due to the Labor Day holiday last week.
