US weekly corn conditions decline; harvest under way at 5%

US crop conditions for corn declined in the week to Sunday September 8, while soybean conditions were unchanged, according to the USDA’s weekly crop progress report released on Monday September 9.

Corn dough was reported at 95%, up by 5 percentage points from the previous week but down by 1 percentage point from the year before.

Corn dented was reported at 74%, up by 14 percentage points from the previous week’s total but down by 4 points year on year.

Corn maturity was reported at 29%, up by 10 percentage points from the previous week and in line with last year’s figures.

Corn harvest is under way in nine states, standing at 5%, up by 1 percentage point from last year and by 2 points from the five-year average.
