Organic soybeans maintain value as organic corn prices decline

Organic corn prices continue to seek a bottom, as an anticipated abundant harvest approaches. The Midwest organic corn price reflects a $7.35 per bushel midpoint, but some forward contracting is creeping below the $6 per bushel mark, pressuring spot prices as bin cleanouts continue.

Larger lots remain a challenge for major operators, but new crop will replenish inventories and will attract bargain hunters with storage.   

Merchandisers tell Fastmarkets that on-time rail service has declined in recent weeks, after earlier reporting that indicated rail service had been reliable with plenty of cars available.
