Poultry by-product meal pet grade lower in Southeast; Sept on-feed cattle higher year on year

US animal proteins were steady to slightly lower on Friday September 20. The only price change was on the Southeast poultry by-product meal pet grade due to increased production. Other animal protein products were rangebound for the day.

Fastmarkets assessed poultry by-product meal pet grade, Southeast at $550-625 per short on Friday, lower from $575-625 per short ton on Thursday.

The October soybean meal futures price on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) averaged around $318.66 per short ton in the week to Friday, up by less than half a percent from the previous week’s average of $317.46 per short ton.
