Geopolitical tensions, policy uncertainty stymies US animal fats, oils trade

The Missouri River choice white grease (CWG) market moved to a low of 42.5 cents per lb FOB after trading was done late on Thursday October 3.

Distiller’s corn oil traded lower into the US Gulf market on Friday October 4, down to 46.0-46.5 cents per lb. Bids were heard from several directions at 45.5 cents per lb.

Renderer fats prices were lower week on week, falling across the bleachable fancy tallow (BFT), yellow grease and choice white grease markets.

Chicago packer BFT fell 0.4% from the week prior to an average of 45.5 cents per lb, following trading done lower on Tuesday October 1.

Choice white grease FOB Missouri River was down 0.5% and yellow grease prices out of the same market were down 2.3%.
