US packer BFT prices lower in Chicago, steady in Gulf market

Price direction in the animal fats, used cooking oil (UCO) and distiller’s corn oil (DCO) markets was mixed on Tuesday October 8 amid pockets of demand supporting prices, while the falling heating oil and soybean oil futures market pushed pockets of trading lower and some bids dramatically lower.

Bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) trading on a US Gulf basis was steady at 46 cents per lb delivered US Gulf on Tuesday, while trading was done lower on a Chicago basis, àt 45 cents per lb.

Gulf bids were heard lower, down to 41 cents per lb for yellow grease, 42 cents per lb for UCO and 44 cents per lb for BFT.
