US ethanol production, stocks shift above weekly, yearly levels

Weekly average ethanol production in the US totaled 1.04 million barrels per day in the week to Friday October 11, up by 4,000 bpd from a week earlier and up by 0.4% year on year, according to reports by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Thursday October 17.

Ethanol stocks were 22.27 million barrels, up by 121,000 barrels week on week and up by 5.5% year on year.

Demand for corn increased by 0.4% from the previous week and by 0.7% year on year. Approximately 15.43 million bushels of corn per day were used for ethanol production.

Livestock feed production totaled 111,430 tonnes in the week to October 11. Distillers’ dried grain (DDG) production accounted for 99,103 tonnes, with the remaining amount consisting of 10,401 tonnes of corn gluten feed and 1,926 tonnes of corn gluten meal.

Gasoline supply decreased by 1.03 million bpd from the previous week to 8.62 million bpd and down by 3.6% year on year.
