US cattle slaughter forecast up w-o-w, down 2% y-o-y

Trading in the US animal proteins market was quiet on Monday October 28, with no price changes reported. 

Fastmarkets’ research team forecasts cattle slaughter at 625,000 head for the week to Saturday November 2, up by 0.32% week on week but down by 2% year on year.

Cattle slaughter finished the previous week at an estimated 623,000 head, down by 1.84% from the corresponding week in 2023.
