September US soybean crush jumps 11% month on month; corn consumption drops

US soybean crush climbs above monthly, yearly levels
Soybeans crushed for crude oil totaled 187 million bushels in September, up by 11.3% from August and up by 6.7% from September 2023, according to the USDA’s Fats and Oils: Oilseed Crushing, Production, Consumption and Stocks report released on Friday November 1.

Crude oil production totaled 2.22 billion lb, up by 12% month on month and up by 7% year on year.

Soybean oil production reached 1.76 billion lb during September, up by 5% from August and up by 4% from September 2023.

Soybean meal production stood at 4.09 million short tons, up by 10.5% month on month and up by 6.5% year on year.

Production of soymeal intended for animal feed totaled 4.02 million tons, while production for edible protein products reached 67,780 tons.
