US animal protein prices hold steady amid light trading

Prices were steady in the US animal protein market on Wednesday November 6, with market participants reporting light trading activity and a largely rangebound market.

Fastmarkets’ research team forecasts broiler slaughter at 167.25 million head in the week to Saturday November 9, 1% lower from the same period in 2023.

Over the next six weeks, broiler slaughter is expected to average 162.12 million head per week, higher by 0.2% year on year, according to Fastmarkets’ research team.
